On behalf of the Mystery Writers of America, Bob had the enviable task of securing a proclamation in which Gov. Rick Perry declared "Mystery Writers Day" in Texas as the annual convention of fans and authors convened in Austin. The proclamation was presented and read during MWA's reception for members and their guests, with participants including, from left: Bob, MWA-Southern California chapter president; Carolyn Cain, MWA-Florida chapter president; National MWA Executive Vice President Barry Zeman, National MWA Treasurer Elaine Viets, and Laura Elvebak, MWA South West chapter president.
Bouchercon's "L.A. Cool" panel drew an SRO crowd and featured, from left: Denise Hamilton, Gay Toltl Kinman, Bob, Taffy Cannon, and Jan Burke.

Gone before the applause had died down: Dan Barton.

Lobby conversation suspended long enough for this photo by, from left: Parnell Hall, Rochelle Krich, Bob, Harlan Coben, and Jeff Abbott.
Bob and one of his favorite ladies, the oh-so-marvelous Margaret Maron.
And another: S.J. Rozan.
Lobbying, this time with Robert Ferrigno, left, and Martin J. Smith .
Bob and Rochelle grab a souvenir shot with the inimitable Ed Hoch.
That's Paul Stevens, a Forge editor, and Linda Landrigan, editor of Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine.
