Athletes

Amélie Mauresmo

She created controversy by becoming the first pro player to openly discuss her lesbian identity since Martina Navratilova.  Her official site includes bio info, news, and a fan club. It's available both in French and in English.

Billy Bean
Baseball is one of the most difficult sports in which to be gay.  The players live together on the road and, well, it's not easy.  You know the "jock" culture.

Rudy Galindo
From Salon, "Former U.S. figure skating champion Rudy Galindo talks about the Salt Lake Olympics, the sport's effeminate image and the reactions to his coming out. And no, they're not."

Billie Jean King
Neither her WIC bio or "Women's Sports Legends Online"   mention it, but yes, she's a lesbian.  Her official site, linked above, is still under construction at the moment.

Greg Louganis
The Olympic Diver's official site.

David Pichler
U.S. Olympic Diver from the 2000 Games in Sydney.

Alissa Wykes
She plays professional women's football, and upset the league when she came out.  Puh-leaze!.

Authors

Hans Christian Anderson
Rather puts "Ugly Duckling" in a new perspective, eh?

Clive Barker
One of the most well-known contemporary writers of "horror."

Gertrude Stein
An incredible woman, and her life with Alice B. Toklas is well documented.

Oscar Wilde
It would be poor taste to miss the site for "Oscarina" and a look at the "Life and Times of Oscar Wilde."

Chuck Panozzo - Musician
Bassist for Styx (albums include "Grand Illusion" and "Pieces of Eight") comes out and becomes a spokesperson for HRC's National Coming Out Project.
