Good Guys: Sponsors of Ellen's Last Episode

Dateline: 05/15/98

I'm not going to comment on what I thought of the last episode of Ellen. Frankly, there wasn't much she could have done that wouldn't have had its fans and detractors. Heck, merely by having a last episode, loads of people had something or another to say. We've covered that all before.

What I am going to comment upon is how proud I am of the following companies for risking the wrath of the "Religious Reich" by sponsoring the last episode.

Without further ado - here are our friends - or at least companies sufficiently astute to realize that we have money to spend:

Carnival Cruises
Touchstone Pictures: Six Days, Seven Nights
Nicoderm
Salon Selectives
MCI
Aquafresh
Visa
Saturn
Boston Market
Caress Soap
Airtouch Cellular
Excedrin
Intel
Saab
Snapple
Gap
Wisk
Buena Vista Pictures: The Horse Whisperer
VW
Clairol

Several ads for ABC shows, but based on the number of advertisers I suspect they could have sold the time if they wanted to do so. So, at the least, they knew they'd be getting an audience, or wanted to promote their shows to the audience they were getting.

Now to decide whether my next car will be a Saab or a VW....

In Pride,
Deborah
