Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) decision to include homosexual "domestic partners" in its benefit plan for employees effective January 1, 2002.
In a statement issued to its employees, P&G said the company "will broaden the eligibility
requirements for dependents to include domestic partners and their children."
The company said the policy change is consistent with P&G’s continuing "commitments to valuing diversity" and "promotes equal opportunity related to marital status or sexual orientation."
Many groups on the "Right" including Donald E. Wildmon's American Family Association (AFA) are lining up in an attempt to hurt P&G where it hurts, in its pocketbook, calling for boycotts and letter writing campaigns.
You may wish to do your part to let P&G know that you appreciate their stance and counteract the backlash that is sure to hit them, whether it be by buying their products, writing them letters of support, or both.
